Suzanne Rheinstein, Madeline Stuart, and Steven Volpe; moderated by Carl J. Dellatore
Point and Counterpoint
Designer and author Carl Dellatore will moderate a lively conversation on the importance of art and antiques in 21st-century design. Suzanne Rheinstein, interior designer, author and owner of Hollyhock, is known for her signature style described as elegant civility: “fewer things but better things.” The distinguished Los Angeles designer, Madeline Stuart works on projects that reflect a collaborative relationship between architecture and furniture, function and form, client and designer. Steven Volpe, owner of Hedge, immersed himself in European techniques, history and theory at an early age, developing a fine-tuned eye and allowing him to orchestrate design projects worldwide. Book signing to follow.

The Institute of Classical Art and Architecture, Southern California Chapter, honored Suzanne for her achievements and contributions in advancing the classical tradition in architecture and art at its 2016 Legacy Dinner on October 13th.
ICAA-SCC co-founder Marc Appleton noted, “In the early years, when we did not have a “home,” [Suzanne Rheinstein] generously hosted lectures and book signings for us at her former Hollyhock showroom. For this alone, we are eternally grateful to her, and I am so pleased that we are finally honoring her this year.”

I am thrilled to be honored as the Grand Marshal by the Friends of Robinson Gardens at the annual May Garden Tour in Beverly Hills. I have supported the organization for many years and am passionate about the work it is doing to preserve these historical gardens for generations to come.
This year’s Garden Tour is inspired by the popular Spanish song, “De Colores,” and will reflect the passion and allure of fiery Latin culture. The day begins with an exclusive tour of stunning private home gardens, and continues with a luncheon, fashion show, cocktails, and shopping.
I hope you can join us to support this wonderful organization and be a part of this truly special day in Beverly Hills society. For more information and to purchase tickets please go to http://www.robinsongardens.org/2016-garden-tour/.
It was such a pleasure to celebrate both my book and my return home to Los Angeles with my favorite people– a fabulous time was had by all!
On Wednesday November 4th, Suzanne hosted a cocktail and book signing party at Gerald Bland to celebrate “ Rooms for Living” with her dearest friends and colleagues in New York City. “It was wonderful to see everyone who came out to celebrate and we had a wonderful evening.”
Suzanne was the featured speaker at the Greenville South Carolina Antiques Show, benefitting the Greenville County Museum of Art. “I loved being there and had a delightful time. The interior designer Eric Brown decorated the opening party with beautiful arrangements inspired by some images in my book. Flowers in dark shades of purples and browns and unusual things like red okra were grouped in sophisticated country bouquets of all different sizes. The dealers were wonderful—I found quite a few things I couldn’t resist. And both the audience and the committee were terrific.”
